INFORMATION

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do we need a Hospital District?

Hospital Districts provide a funding resource to ensure that adequate health care is available in rural areas. Private or non-profit rural hospitals are often unable to financially survive independent of governmental support.

How is the new medical campus funded?

The Hospital District will issue revenue bonds. There are no tax dollars required to build the new facility.

Was the new Pine Healthcare Campus really needed?

The current hospital is the only hospital in Pine County and is nearly 60 years old. Two studies clearly indicate the need for a more efficient and up-to-date medical facility with a different mix of medical services.

Why should cities and townships be members of the Hospital District?

It is the responsibility of every government entity to provide essential service, health care being one of the most important.
