ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Under general supervision, performs a variety of tasks related to the determination of eligibility of clients for income maintenance programs and services; establish initial and on-going eligibility for multiple income maintenance programs; communicates program requirements and assists program participants in understanding how to maintain eligibility; supports program participants in achieving the highest degree of independence and in addressing barriers to self- sufficiency; provides education, enrollment and assistance to managed health care enrollees; makes appropriate referrals to other community resources; and performs related work as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Three years of clerical experience or experience working with the public, or some combination of the two, totaling three years or;

Two years of clerical experience in a social services/human services agency or;
-
Two years of study at an accredited two- or four-year college or university or similar institution, with emphasis in the behavioral sciences, business, human services, or closely related subjects (at least 23 quarter credits or 16 semester credits) or;

Successful completion of the technical college Human Services Eligibility Worker diploma program

Also, a valid Driver’s License.

HHS - Case Aide
Mental Health and Adult Protection Unit
Case Aide Location: Health & Human Services – Pine City
AFSCME H&HS Unit FLSA Status: Full-time, non-exempt (37.5 hrs/week)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Provide staff support to the Social Services Unit. Review application forms for accuracy and completeness, collect data for required reports, print and distribute reports per instructions, maintain unit files, receive transfer cases, notify clients of needed verification, destroy records per retention schedule. Receive, open and date stamp mail, distribute mail to office personnel. Maintain reference manuals, filing, design forms, prepare calendars, reception duties, operate and maintain office machines (copier, videos, fax, etc.), monitor and order supplies for unit. Enter case notes, assist clients to access appropriate community resources, refer clients to appropriate agency units. Complete data entry for the various automated case management systems used by the agency and division.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Three years of successful clerical experience and/or experience working with the public or the equivalent; or
-
Two years of successful clerical experience in a social services/human services agency; or
-
Two years of experience as a community service aide or similar experience in a private non-profit agency
or other public agency; or
-
Two years of study at an accredited two or four year college/university or similar institution, with
emphasis in the behavioral sciences (at least 23 quarter credits or 16 semester credits.)

Also, valid driver’s license.
