HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES
Location: Position may be eligible for remote work

FLSA Status: Full-time, non-exempt (37.5 hrs/week)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Under general supervision, performs a variety of tasks related to the determination of eligibility of clients for income maintenance programs and services; establish initial and on-going eligibility for multiple income maintenance programs; communicates program requirements and assists program participants in understanding how to maintain eligibility; supports program participants in achieving the highest degree of independence and in addressing barriers to self- sufficiency; provides education, enrollment and assistance to managed health care enrollees; makes appropriate referrals to other community resources; and performs related work as assigned.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Three years of clerical experience or experience working with the public, or some combination of the two, totaling three years or;

  • Two years of clerical experience in a social services/human services agency or;

  • Two years of study at an accredited two- or four-year college or university or similar institution, with emphasis in

    the behavioral sciences, business, human services, or closely related subjects (at least 23 quarter credits or 16

    semester credits) or;

  • Successful completion of the technical college Human Services Eligibility Worker diploma program

  • Also, a valid Driver’s License.

Office Support Specialist Location: Health & Human Services- Sandstone

AFSCME H&HS Unit FLSA Status: Full-time, non-exempt (37.5 hrs/week)

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

This position provides clerical and administrative support at the front receptionist desk in Sandstone. Supports the department with excellent customer service via phone and in person to the community. Helps to prepare and manage correspondence, reports, documents, and manuals. Provides technical support services to all HHS staff, clients and vendors. Provides customer support for the various programs offered by the agency. Performs moderately difficult clerical assignments and public contact work requiring independent judgment. Enter data into computer systems, setting up case files, and assisting clients in completing forms. Operates office equipment and maintains supply room materials. Works with all HHS units to provide agency program support.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma, or the equivalent; and

  • Clerical experience and/or experience working with the public; or

  • Experience in a human service agency; or

  • Similar experience in a private non-profit organization.

  • Also, valid driver’s license
